JUST IN: Binani dumps ADC for NDC nine months after leaving APC

Senator Aishatu Binani, a prominent political figure in Adamawa State, has once again shifted her political allegiance, this time joining the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). This move comes just nine months after her departure from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), underscoring the dynamic and often fluid nature of Nigerian politics.

I believe many Nigerians are asking why I decided to join the NDC. The answer is quite simple. After carefully studying the party’s constitution, I saw a strong commitment to structured, policy-driven governance.

Binani explained her decision, stating that a thorough review of the NDC's constitution revealed a strong commitment to "structured, policy-driven governance." While acknowledging her recent party switches, she emphasized that political decisions are often dictated by "prevailing realities" and, most importantly, the interests of her supporters. She highlighted that the initiative to join the NDC originated from her political base, which had already made substantial inroads within the party before her formal entry.

Politics is dynamic and often local in nature, and decisions are made based on prevailing realities. However, my foremost priority has always been the interest of my supporters.

Expressing deep gratitude for her supporters, whom she described as the "driving force" behind her achievements, Binani noted that Adamawa State now boasts the highest number of registered NDC members. She called for "fairness, equity, justice, transparency, and the strengthening of internal democracy" within the NDC, principles she believes are crucial for the party's long-term success. The NDC's National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, welcomed Binani, characterizing the party as an inclusive platform ready to embrace new energy and ideas.

In fact, before I made my final decision, they had already made significant progress within the party. Today, Adamawa State boasts of having the highest number of registered NDC members.
