Juventus Withdraws Offer for Emiliano 'Dibu' Martínez Amid Fee Dispute

Juventus has officially pulled out of negotiations to sign Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez for the 2026/2027 season. The decision comes after the Italian club concluded that Aston Villa's asking price was too steep.

According to reports, Aston Villa insisted on a 12 million euro fee for the national team player, a figure Juventus was unwilling to meet. This stance aligns with comments made by Aston Villa's director of operations, Damian Vidagany, in mid-July. Vidagany emphasized that Martínez would remain with the club, stating, "Martínez will stay with us. We have no intention of letting him go this summer. The team needs his dedication and his vast experience, and he is a very important element in our project for next season."

The failed transfer means Luciano Spalletti, the Juventus coach, will continue to search for reinforcements in the goalkeeper position. Another target, Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, appears to be heading to PSG, according to recent reports.
