Kano appoints 19 new permanent secretaries, redeploys 14

The move, approved by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, is intended to bolster the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations.

I have the pleasure to convey the approval of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the appointment/deployment of Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service.

Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, the state's Head of Civil Service, disclosed the details in a statement, emphasizing that these appointments are a call to greater responsibility and selfless service. The reshuffle follows the elevation of deserving directors to permanent secretary positions, a strategic step aimed at re-strengthening the government's machinery for optimal service delivery.

The posting follows the recent upliftment of some deserving Directors to the position of Permanent Secretaries, which was aimed at re-strengthening the machinery of Government for an effective and efficient service delivery.

The newly appointed permanent secretaries are urged to carry out their duties with diligence and competence, aligning with the administration's overarching goals. The government expects the transition to be smooth, with all handover and takeover procedures to be finalized by August 12, 2026. This administrative restructuring signals a commitment to enhancing public service delivery within the state.
