Kaohsiung Launches 25 Health Screenings for Women Around MRT Stations

In a thoughtful initiative to honor mothers and safeguard women's health, the Kaohsiung City Health Bureau, in collaboration with Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corporation and local medical institutions, is launching "MRT Accompanies Mom" health screening events. These 25 events, strategically located around MRT and LRT stations, offer convenient access for citizens to undergo crucial screenings for cervical and breast cancer.

This campaign underscores Kaohsiung's commitment to proactive healthcare, particularly around the significant occasion of Mother's Day. By bringing these vital health services directly to accessible public transport hubs, the city aims to remove barriers and encourage widespread participation. Women who complete their screenings during these events will be eligible for rewards, including MRT single-journey tickets and other attractive gifts, with an extra ticket for first-time participants, while supplies last.

Beyond the immediate event, Kaohsiung is also promoting broader women's health programs. Partnering with 23 medical facilities, the city offers the "Kaohsiung Accompany You, Listen to Health" project for women aged 40-64, providing a chance to win prizes like gold ingots through scratch cards upon completing specific checks. Furthermore, a "First Protection for Your Health, Simple for Your Neck and Breasts" initiative encourages women aged 30-70 to undergo their first cervical or breast screenings, offering NT$100 in gift certificates for those who complete one screening and register online, subject to availability. These multifaceted efforts highlight Kaohsiung's dedication to fostering a culture of health and well-being among its female population.
