Kasia Niewiadoma reclaims lead in Ventoux stage, takes yellow jersey

Kasia Niewiadoma of Poland has claimed victory in the seventh stage of the Tour de France Femmes, a challenging 146.8-kilometer race that culminated on the iconic Mont Ventoux. The powerful performance saw Niewiadoma seize the overall leader's yellow jersey, displacing Switzerland's Marlen Reusser.

Niewiadoma launched a decisive attack with approximately 10 kilometers remaining on the formidable Mont Ventoux ascent. She rode solo to the summit, finishing with a significant 1:16 advantage over her closest competitors. This victory was aided by a lack of cohesive effort between Reusser and Dutch rider Demi Vollering, who were closely marking each other.

Vollering ultimately finished second on the stage, gaining 30 seconds on Reusser in the general classification, while Elisa Longo Borghini of Italy secured third place. The queen stage of the 'Grande Boucle' included four categorized climbs, with the final ascent of the 'giant of Provence' featuring a grueling 15.7 kilometers at an average gradient of 8.8%. The challenging terrain ultimately proved to be the deciding factor in the day's outcome.
