Kastaneda, Remis Retro, and Gamka revive legendary hit 'All You Need'

Lithuanian band "Kastaneda" has unveiled a reimagined version of their iconic 1990s hit, "Viskas, ko reikia" (All You Need). The updated track features a collaboration with rappers Remis Retro and Gamka, who expressed their lifelong admiration for "Kastaneda's" music.

This news really delighted us, and after a few years, as the idea of holding an arena show matured, they were probably the inevitable duo we wanted to invite to sing together. Without delay, I called Gamka, and it seemed that as soon as he heard my voice, he already understood why I was calling. That's how our path to a joint song began.

"Kastaneda" is preparing for a solo concert at the "Žalgirio" arena, and the band saw the rappers as an essential duo to invite for a performance of the beloved song. L. Pačkauskas of "Kastaneda" recalled calling Gamka, who he felt immediately understood the reason for the call, marking the beginning of their collaboration.

Remis Retro shared that he remembers "Kastaneda" from his primary school days, even listing them as his favorite band in a childhood memory book. Gamka learned about the group through his older brother, noting that their music, incorporating elements of rap and hip-hop, resonated with the sounds they grew up with. He described "Kastaneda" as a top Lithuanian act from their youth, associated with many fond memories.

I perfectly remember those childish memory books-questionnaires where we wrote down all the most important information about ourselves for friends. In primary school, I wrote in such a book for a friend that my favorite band was "Kastaneda."

The new rendition of "Viskas, ko reikia" injects contemporary energy, complemented by a music video featuring hip-hop dancers. This hip-hop culture element will be a prominent feature of "Kastaneda's" concert at the "Žalgirio" arena on November 14. "The new version has gained youthfulness and energy, and filming the video was one of the most fun days this summer," said D. Baumila-Dūnis. "I'd say it was like a good party with great company, girls, and dancing."

Older brothers always introduce younger ones to all sorts of fun things – girls, parties, good music, and that's exactly what happened with "Kastaneda." Among Lithuanian bands or artists, "Kastaneda" was at the very top for us. We have many good youth memories with their songs.

The concert will showcase "Kastaneda's" most famous hits and fan favorites, including "Sombrero," "Truputį laimės," "Myliu," and "Vakar vakare," among many others. The show's choreography is being developed by Rugilė Bliznikaitė, who will oversee the performances of the dancers and the stage movements of L. Pačkauskas and D. Baumila-Dūnis.
