Kazakhstan delegation seeks thousands of cows in Argentina to boost livestock industry

Argentina, a global powerhouse in livestock production, is poised to play a pivotal role in Kazakhstan's ambitious agricultural development plans. A high-level delegation from the Central Asian nation recently toured major rural establishments across Argentina, signaling a significant reactivation of the agro-livestock relationship between the two countries.

The Kazakh delegation, led by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Amangaliy Berdalin, expressed a clear objective: to import live cattle and embryos. This move is part of Kazakhstan's 'Comprehensive Livestock Development Plan 2026-2030,' which aims to significantly increase its bovine, ovine, and equine stocks, with a target of doubling exports by 2031. Berdalin highlighted that current trade levels are insufficient and do not reflect the existing potential, emphasizing Argentina's position as a world leader in livestock production.
