Kazakhstan President: A New World Order is Taking Shape

Kazakhstan is entering an era of profound change as a new world order takes shape, according to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He described the emerging global landscape as having mutually contradictory characteristics: on one hand, it is dangerous, flawed, and devoid of a future, while on the other, it is progressive, technological, promising, and consequential.

In these evolving conditions, Tokayev asserted that only states demonstrating the ability to practically protect and strengthen their sovereignty in economic, scientific, military, and diplomatic spheres will have a chance to adapt successfully. Critically, he highlighted the development of human potential as essential for navigating these new realities.

Under these conditions, it is already clear to everyone that only those states that can, through practical action, protect and strengthen their sovereignty in the economy, science, and the military and diplomatic spheres, and, critically, develop their human potential, will have a chance to successfully adapt to entirely new realities in the coming era.

Therefore, the President stressed that Kazakhstan's comprehensive modernization holds strategic importance. He noted that the pace and scale of the country's reforms have reached an irreversible point, representing a significant achievement. This reform agenda, he added, largely aligns with current and future global challenges, aiming to take preventive measures and overcome them.

Tokayev also referenced Kazakhstan's historical traditions, mentioning the restoration of the name Kurultai for the new Parliament. This reform, he explained, is intended to merge the country's political heritage with a modern system of governance.
