Kazakhstan weather: Astana faces extreme heat, Almaty expects rain

Astana is bracing for a significant heatwave, with temperatures expected to soar to +36°C to +38°C on August 11. The capital city will experience partly cloudy skies with no precipitation, accompanied by southeasterly winds shifting to northwesterly at 9–14 meters per second. Following the extreme heat, temperatures are forecast to drop considerably, with nighttime lows ranging from +13°C to +15°C and daytime highs between +27°C and +29°C on August 12.

Meanwhile, Almaty will experience a different weather pattern on August 11, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of light rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Daytime temperatures are predicted to reach extreme heat levels of +33°C to +35°C, while nighttime temperatures will range from +21°C to +23°C. Southeasterly winds will blow at 3–8 meters per second, with gusts up to 13 meters per second during the day.

For August 12 and 13, Almaty is forecast to have partly cloudy conditions with brief rain and thunderstorms. Southwesterly winds will range from 3–8 meters per second. Temperatures will remain warm, with nighttime lows between +21°C and +23°C and daytime highs reaching +34°C to +36°C.
