Kazakhstan weather forecast: Cooler temperatures arrive with easing heat

Kazakhstan is set to experience a shift towards cooler weather as the heat begins to ease across the country starting August 18. The forecast indicates a general decrease in temperatures, offering relief from the recent warm conditions.

In the capital, Astana, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with intermittent wind gusts reaching up to 20 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will hover around 10-12°C, with daytime highs reaching 23-25°C. Further south, Almaty will experience partly cloudy conditions with light rain and thunderstorms, particularly in the morning and afternoon. Winds will be lighter, and temperatures will range from 19-21°C at night to 31-33°C during the day.

Cities like Shymkent and Turkestan will see partly cloudy skies with no precipitation, but with significant daytime highs. Northwest winds will blow at 8-13 m/s, with temperatures ranging from 19-21°C at night to 35-37°C in Turkestan and 34-36°C in Shymkent during the day.

Other regions will also see varied conditions. Konaev will have partly cloudy skies and highs of 32-34°C, while Taldykorgan expects highs of 30-32°C. Kyzylorda will be clear with highs of 33-35°C. Coastal Aktau will experience partly cloudy weather with highs of 31-33°C. Atyrau anticipates light rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon, with daytime temperatures around 29-31°C.

Northern and western regions will also see a change. Uralsk and Aktobe will have partly cloudy skies with highs around 30-32°C. Karaganda and Zhezkazgan will experience partly cloudy conditions with highs of 23-28°C. Kostanay, Kokshetau, Petropavlovsk, and Pavlodar are forecast to have rain, thunderstorms, and fog, with daytime temperatures ranging from 20-23°C.
