Keelung Double-Decker Sightseeing Bus to Resume Operations August 29

The Keelung double-decker sightseeing bus is set to resume its services on August 29, earlier than initially anticipated, following comprehensive repairs and safety inspections. The Cultural and Tourism Bureau announced that bookings for the initial services on August 29 and 30 are now open, inviting visitors to enjoy a trip during the final days of summer.

According to Keelung City Cultural and Tourism Bureau Director Chiang Ting-mei, the bus underwent extensive repairs after being involved in an accident. The operating unit ensured all damaged parts were replaced with genuine European components and that the vehicle passed rigorous testing by professional technicians. The bus has now met all operational safety standards.

Chiang emphasized that passenger safety remains the top priority. During the maintenance period, the bus's structural integrity, equipment, and driving systems were thoroughly checked. She thanked the public for their patience during the service suspension.
