Kejriwal to March on PM's Residence Over E20 Petrol Concerns

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal announced he will lead a march to the Prime Minister's residence on Tuesday, August 4, to submit an online petition signed by over 200,000 people. The petition opposes the rollout of E20 petrol, a blend of 20% ethanol and 80% gasoline.

A few days ago, I asked the people of the country to sign a petition addressed to the Prime Minister. So far, more than two lakh people have signed it online... At 12 noon on August 4, I will personally go to the PM’s residence to hand them over. I will take only 100 people with me who are not afraid of police lathis or going to jail.

Kejriwal made the announcement at a "National Townhall Against E20," where he stated that he would personally deliver printed copies of the petition to the Prime Minister. He plans to take only 100 individuals with him, emphasizing they should be "not afraid of police lathis or going to jail."

"If E20 were truly safe, they would sit across the table and have a discussion," Kejriwal stated. "We would present our evidence, and they could present theirs." He believes a discussion is necessary to address concerns about the fuel's safety and potential impact on vehicles.

Responding to Kejriwal's allegations, Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra dismissed the concerns. Malhotra challenged Kejriwal to produce evidence, stating, "...He should produce even 100 vehicles that have actually suffered damage or engine failure because of using E20 fuel." The BJP leader suggested that Kejriwal's claims lack concrete proof.
