Kidnap victim injures abductor, aids suspect’s arrest in Ondo

On the 10th of April, 2026, one Ahmadu reported at the Isua Division that two young men had gone to Ipesi Akoko for cattle rearing, but one of them did not return home.

The victim's quick thinking and decisive action in fighting back and injuring his assailant allowed him to break free from the clutches of his captors. This act of self-defense not only secured his own freedom but also provided the critical evidence – a visible head injury – that led to the suspect's arrest.

The victim narrated that he was abducted at night by three suspected kidnappers. During the incident, while trying to resist his captors, he inflicted a head injury on one of the suspects.

The swift response by the Ondo State Police Command, particularly the anti-kidnapping unit, underscores their commitment to tackling crime. Acting swiftly on credible information obtained from the victim, operatives of the Isua Division mobilised and stormed Obasanjo Motor Park, Isua, at about 0609hrs, where a suspicious individual with a visible head injury was apprehended.
