Kosiniak-Kamysz in Nowa Dęba: Poland wants to showcase its military equipment

Poland wants to show the world what its armed forces and defence industry can offer, Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said during a military equipment presentation in Nowa Dęba.

The event took place ahead of the 34th International Defence Industry Exhibition, known as MSPO, in Kielce. Slovakia’s Defence Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Robert Kaliňák attended as the presentation’s guest of honour.

We want to show what equipment Poland has.

Kosiniak-Kamysz said MSPO had gained the status of a global arms exhibition and ranked among Europe’s three largest events of its kind. This year, he said, organizers wanted to add a practical element by showing how the equipment operates and promoting it for export.

We wanted to show how this equipment works, and we wanted to show it in order to sell it as well.

More than 20 countries are represented, including South Korea, Armenia and countries from the Middle East. The minister highlighted Poland’s Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles, Krab self-propelled howitzers and Rak mortar systems. He also pointed to units equipped with hardware purchased from the United States, including Apache helicopters and F-16 aircraft.

Poland’s Piorun man-portable air-defence system is also in service and attracting interest worldwide, Kosiniak-Kamysz said. He added that he wanted the Nowa Dęba event to become a permanent part of the MSPO calendar and urged partners from around the world to buy Polish military equipment. Poland, he said, is becoming an important producer after years as a buyer.
