KOWANI attends Scout Day and Jamboree to strengthen youth programs

The Indonesian Women's Congress (KOWANI), described as the "Mother Nation and Great House of Indonesian Women's Organizations," participated in the 65th Indonesian Scout Movement Day and the opening ceremony of the National Scout Jamboree XII in 2026. The event took place on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Cibubur Scout Camp and Tourist Center in East Jakarta.

Nannie Hadi Tjahjanto, Chairperson of KOWANI for the 2024-2029 period, stated that KOWANI's presence was intended to strengthen its network and explore potential programs within the Scout Movement. These initiatives are particularly focused on supporting character education, fostering youth leadership, promoting community service, instilling national defense values, and reinforcing national unity and integrity.

Tjahjanto highlighted that the 2026 Scout Day theme, "Strengthening Organizational Steps to Support Food Self-Sufficiency Towards Indonesia Gold 2045," strongly resonates with KOWANI's strategic priorities. These include food security, family resilience, women's empowerment, character development for the younger generation, and cultivating superior human resources. She emphasized the necessity of building a collaborative chain for generational development, linking women, families, education, and scouting.

KOWANI views the values inherent in scouting, discipline, independence, mutual cooperation, leadership, social concern, love for the homeland, and service, as highly relevant for strengthening the development of Indonesian women and youth cadres. Following this participation, KOWANI plans to coordinate with the Indonesian Scout Movement's authorities to explore the possibility of developing scouting bases and community-based scout units within KOWANI's structure, adhering to official procedures.
