Vice President Gibran Inaugurates 76 Paskibraka Members for 81st Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka officially inaugurated 76 members of the national flag-hoisting troop, Paskibraka, at the State Palace in Jakarta on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

These selected youths, representing all 38 provinces of Indonesia, are preparing to undertake the significant duty of raising the national flag during the 81st Indonesian Independence Day ceremony. The main event is scheduled to take place at the Merdeka Palace on August 17, 2026.

The inauguration ceremony saw the Vice President formally inducting the Paskibraka members. The event also included the symbolic act of members kissing the "Bendera Merah Putih" (the Red and White flag), signifying their commitment and readiness for their national service.

Accompanying Vice President Raka were key government officials, including Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi. Their presence underscored the importance of the Paskibraka's role in the nation's most significant celebration.
