Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto has stressed that integrity is the fundamental principle for every participant in the Patriot Expedition Team (TEP) 2026. He delivered this message during the team's send-off ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Transmigration at Balai Kartini in Jakarta.

He emphasized that the students' involvement in the TEP 2026 is more than just a service program; they carry a mandate and the state's trust to provide tangible benefits to communities in transmigration areas.

Budiyanto further explained that integrity extends beyond avoiding corrupt practices. It is a prerequisite for achieving national goals. By executing their tasks with integrity, participants are expected to foster protection, welfare, better education, and social justice for residents in transmigration areas. "Integrity is the state's way of fulfilling its promises. It is our obligation, who are given the opportunity to carry out the Patriot Expedition activities, to do so with full integrity," he added.

The KPK chairman also cautioned the participants against treating local communities merely as sources for data collection. He urged them to generate solutions rooted in a deep understanding of the field conditions, culture, and local knowledge. "Do not make the community just a source of data. Knowledge is important, technology is important, data is important, but local knowledge must also be important," he asserted. Maintaining objectivity in data compilation and recommendations is also crucial, as this information will inform ministerial policy decisions. "The data will greatly influence the decisions made by the Minister. Just present it as it is, not because it's forced, conditioned, let alone because there's an order," he concluded.

The Patriot Expedition Team 2026 involves 1,476 students from various universities who will be deployed to 53 transmigration areas throughout Indonesia for a period of four months. The program aims to generate innovative ideas and provide assistance to communities, supporting the development and transformation of these areas.
