Krakow hooligan leader arrested in Croatia, faces six years in prison

Authorities in Croatia have arrested the leader of a notorious hooligan group from Krakow, Poland, who was wanted for drug trafficking and involvement in organized crime. The 41-year-old man, identified by unofficial sources as Patryk P. from the Wisła Sharks group, had been evading law enforcement since March.

He is currently facing a six-year prison sentence in Poland following a final court ruling for his participation in an organized criminal group and drug-related offenses. The Krakow District Court issued a European Arrest Warrant on Monday, leading to his apprehension by Croatian officers overnight.

Polish police, specifically the "headhunters" unit from the Krakow Provincial Police Headquarters' Search and Identification Division, tracked the fugitive abroad. The man was reportedly on the run, frequently changing residences and allegedly receiving assistance from individuals associated with hooligan circles across Poland to avoid capture.

According to police information, the arrested individual headed a violent faction of hooligans linked to a Krakow football club. His criminal activities, primarily focused on drug trafficking, allegedly spanned from 2007 to 2017. He failed to report to prison after his conviction, prompting the intensive search that ultimately led to his arrest in Croatia. The suspect remains in police custody in Croatia, and a local court will decide on his extradition to Poland.
