Kuwait authorities arrest citizen accused of possessing drugs and firearms for trafficking

Kuwait authorities arrested a citizen accused of storing drugs and firearms for trafficking after an investigation by the General Department for Drug Control’s Local Control Department.

Security personnel apprehended the suspect at a stable he had rented in the Farwaniya stables area and searched another location in Abdullah Al-Mubarak. They reported seizing about 300 grams of cocaine, 250 grams of hashish, around 3,500 Lyrica capsules and roughly 50 grams of methamphetamine.

The haul also included about 1,000 sheets of paper saturated with chemicals used in synthetic drugs, one pistol with ammunition and four precision scales. Authorities referred the suspect and all seized items to the competent authorities for legal action.

Officials said the stable had been rented and used for purposes other than those for which it was designated. The property owner is being summoned, and the relevant authority has been contacted to begin repossession procedures. The Interior Ministry said properties proven to have been misused would face repossession and violators would face legal measures.
