Kuwait issues seven violations against cooperative societies for consumer protection breaches

Kuwait's consumer protection agency has taken action against several cooperative societies, issuing seven enforcement reports for various violations. The Department of Commercial Control and Consumer Protection conducted an inspection campaign in the Capital Governorate, targeting affiliated commercial stores.

During the inspection, authorities identified several breaches of consumer protection regulations. These included the failure to clearly display prices for goods, a lack of readily available information on exchange and return conditions, and the absence of labels indicating the country of origin for products.

Following the discovery of these violations, seven formal reports were issued against the establishments found to be non-compliant. These cases have now been forwarded to the Commercial Prosecution for further legal proceedings.

The actions taken underscore Kuwait's commitment to enforcing consumer protection laws and ensuring fair trade practices within its cooperative society sector. The referred cases will be handled in accordance with the nation's commercial and consumer protection regulations.
