Kuwait Replaces All Expat Expert Positions as Justice Ministry Completes 100% Kuwaitization

Kuwait's Ministry of Justice has completed a significant nationalization drive, achieving 100% Kuwaitization of its General Department of Experts. This comprehensive development plan, effective Monday, means all expert positions are now filled by Kuwaiti nationals.

Dr. Fawaz Boudi, Acting Head of the General Department of Experts, stated that the process covers all expert roles, including engineering experts, accountants, and legal researchers. Boudi emphasized that this move strengthens the reliance on national competencies in executing the department's responsibilities. It marks the first phase of a broader development plan initiated by Minister of Justice Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait in May.

The next phase will focus on enhancing operational efficiency. Plans include a more balanced distribution of tasks among experts, implementing periodic rotations, improving performance levels, and upgrading the quality and speed of technical reports. Additionally, the department aims to complete the electronic transformation of its services to further boost efficiency.

Minister Al-Sumait had previously announced the modernization plan on May 9, scheduling the full Kuwaitization of expert positions for early August. This involved terminating the contracts of non-Kuwaiti employees in these roles. The ministry's initiative underscores a commitment to prioritizing national talent and streamlining departmental operations.
