Kuwait's CAPT approves re-floating tender for data collection upgrade

Kuwait's Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) has given the green light to re-issue a tender for crucial upgrades to data collection and analysis equipment. The project targets power generation plants and main substations, a move aimed at modernizing the nation's electricity infrastructure.

The tender, valued at KD13.971 million, was initially put on hold following feedback from the State Audit Bureau (SAB). CAPT has requested an extension for the bid bond validity from participating companies, adhering to public tender laws. This decision comes after several companies lodged complaints regarding the original tender process, leading CAPT to opt for a fresh bidding round.

This initiative is a key component of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy's broader strategy to enhance the national electricity network. The upgraded equipment is expected to equip ministry decision-makers with precise, real-time data. This will enable more informed and effective strategic planning and operational management within the energy sector.
