Kuwait Weather: Dust to Ease as Winds Subside, Temperatures to Hit 49°C

Kuwait is anticipating a gradual improvement in dust conditions from Monday night as northwesterly winds begin to subside. The Meteorological Department noted that the country experienced an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by an extremely hot air mass on Monday. This system fueled light to moderate northwesterly winds, which occasionally intensified, reaching speeds of 15 to 55 kilometers per hour. These strong winds stirred up sand and dust, reducing visibility to below 1,000 meters in some areas, particularly in open locations.

Kuwait’s Meteorological Department said dust conditions are expected to gradually improve from Monday night as northwesterly winds weaken and horizontal visibility increases across the country.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, Kuwait can expect extremely hot daytime conditions and hot to warm weather at night. Winds are forecast to remain light to moderate from the northwest, with occasional gusts between 15 and 45 kilometers per hour. There is also a possibility of dust in exposed areas. Temperatures are predicted to range from 34 to 36 degrees Celsius at dawn, with daytime highs climbing to an intense 47 to 49 degrees Celsius.
