Kwara APC candidates visit traditional leaders in Ekiti, Oke-Ero after primaries

Kwara State candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by gubernatorial candidate and Speaker of the Kwara House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, have commenced a statewide "thank you" tour in the southern part of the state. The tour began in Ekiti Local Government and proceeded to Oke-Ero Local Government Area, marking a significant step in post-primary engagement.

We are starting this tour in Ekiti as a mark of honour for our party Chairman. We are here to thank you for what you did during the party primaries and seek your continued support for our candidacies from our Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, down to the State House Assembly.

The APC delegation, accompanied by the state Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi and other party chieftains, visited the palaces of prominent traditional rulers, including the Olosi of Osi and Alofa of Ilofa, who also chair their respective local government councils of chiefs. These visits were aimed at expressing gratitude for the support received during the party primaries and securing royal blessings for the upcoming general elections.

We appreciate you for coming out en masse to receive us. This visit is just by a short notice and the hall is filled to its capacity. We will not take your support for granted. We will consolidate your gains from the administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

During the town hall meetings, Rt. Hon. Danladi thanked the residents of both local governments for their "genuine love and support." He urged them to remain steadfast and continue backing the APC's presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, down to the State House of Assembly candidates. Danladi promised to build upon the achievements of the current administration under Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, emphasizing continuity in critical infrastructure, inclusive growth, human capital development, and respect for traditional institutions.

Please, let’s talk to our neighbours, particularly those who have missed roads to come back to the winning team. The train has not started yet. There is still space in the train so that they can be carried along. May God Almighty continue to guide us.

Prince Fagbemi highlighted the developmental strides in Ekiti Local Government, citing the completion of the KWASU Campus in Osi and the construction of the Obbo-Aiyegunle road project as examples of the administration's commitment. He stressed that these developments warrant continued support from the communities through overwhelming votes in the general elections. The party leaders encouraged supporters to reach out to neighbors and persuade those who may have strayed to rejoin the "winning team," emphasizing that there is still space for everyone.

The only thing I want to tell our traditional rulers is that, you will agree with me that Ekiti Local Government has witnessed unprecedented growth and development since the creation of Kwara state. We now have a functioning (KWASU Campus) university.
