Kyrgyzstan Ready for International Film Cooperation, Eyes Co-Productions

Kyrgyzstan is positioning itself as an open partner for international cooperation in the film industry, particularly focusing on co-production and development. This initiative was highlighted during a roundtable discussion at the SCO International Film Festival, where the theme was 'SCO Cinema in the Modern Era: Integration, Co-production, Development Prospects.'

Talant Tolobekov, Director of Cinematography at the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, welcomed participants, emphasizing Kyrgyzstan's honor in hosting representatives from the SCO film industry. He noted that SCO member states possess rich cultural heritage, and their national cinematographies, while preserving unique identities, serve as vital tools for strengthening humanitarian connections.

Tolobekov stressed that the SCO International Film Festival aims to foster cinematic development, facilitate experience exchange, and encourage the creation of new joint projects. He specifically addressed the progress within Kyrgyzstan's own film industry, mentioning the implementation of new state support mechanisms. The nation, he affirmed, is receptive to collaboration and the execution of international projects.

"We are ready for open dialogue and joint work. Kyrgyzstan has great creative potential, and such meetings help strengthen cultural ties between our countries," Tolobekov stated. He concluded by thanking attendees and expressing confidence that the roundtable would serve as a platform for discussing current challenges, finding solutions, and advancing the cinema of SCO member states.
