Tebas believes that football requires new leadership capable of modernizing the organization's governance, restoring institutional credibility, and fostering collaborative decision-making rather than imposing unilateral actions. This call for resignation follows a period of scrutiny for Infantino. Even before the recent proposal controversy, Tebas had urged Infantino to step down, though he acknowledged at the time that it seemed unlikely. The situation has intensified, with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) recently announcing it no longer has confidence in the FIFA president.
