Labour Party elects Nenadi Usman as substantive chairman

The Labour Party has officially transitioned to new leadership, electing Senator Nenadi Usman as its substantive national chairman during a national elective convention held in Umuahia, Abia State. Usman, who previously served as the caretaker national chairman, secured the position through a consensus and affirmative voting method, reflecting a unified approach within the party.

Abia State Governor Alex Otti, present at the convention, lauded the organizing committee for a credible process. He extended his congratulations to Usman and the newly elected National Working Committee members, including Iheanacho Obioma as national secretary and Hilda Dokubo as national women leader. Governor Otti emphasized the critical tasks ahead, particularly the need for reconciliation and the integration of all party members to bolster the party's strength and reach.

In her acceptance speech, Chairman Usman expressed gratitude for the delegates' confidence and pledged to uphold their trust. Usman called for maximum cooperation from party members, stressing that building a strong political party is a collective endeavor.
