Lamine Yamal Scores Twice as Barcelona Thrash Valencia 5-0

Lamine Yamal scored twice as Barcelona overwhelmed Valencia 5-0 at Mestalla, giving the Catalan club a perfect start to the 2026/27 La Liga season after four matches.

Barcelona took control early. Yamal opened the scoring in the sixth minute, turning a lofted pass from Fermin Lopez into a close-range trivela shot that Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski could not stop. Lopez then doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, finishing Anthony Gordon’s pass with a first-time shot.

Valencia avoided a third goal before halftime when Dimitrievski parried Lopez’s effort onto the post after the Barcelona midfielder made a solo run into the penalty area. Barcelona still led 2-0 at the break and continued attacking after the interval.

Raphinha made it 3-0 in the 49th minute by turning in Lopez’s cross at the far post. Pedri added the fourth in the 78th minute after exchanging passes with Dani Olmo, then Yamal completed the rout six minutes later. The 19-year-old collected Olmo’s through-ball and beat Dimitrievski to claim his second goal.

The result lifted Barcelona to 12 points from four matches and left Valencia at the bottom of the table with one point, according to the official LaLiga website. Yamal, Raphinha, Lopez and Pedri supplied the goals in a victory that preserved Barcelona’s perfect league record.
