Lazović: If there are summer elections, we will support the student list

From the Green-Left Front's perspective, the Serbian political landscape is dominated by President Aleksandar Vučić's attempts to cling to power, which we view with grave concern. Our party, the Green-Left Front (ZLF), believes that any upcoming elections, particularly if held in the summer as rumored, must be approached strategically. We have declared our intention to support a student-led electoral list, seeing it as a potentially more effective way to challenge the status quo than traditional opposition alliances alone.

We are critical of President Vučić's repeated delays in calling snap parliamentary elections. This procrastination, in our view, is not about finding the right moment but about consolidating what we describe as his "criminal empire." The ZLF believes Vučić will evade elections for as long as possible, leveraging his control over vast resources, media manipulation, and state security apparatus to maintain his grip on power.

Our primary goal is to achieve democratic change in Serbia. This requires a united and effective anti-regime front. While we acknowledge the importance of agreements among opposition parties, their true value lies in their ability to contribute to a broader coalition that includes emerging forces like the student list. Competition among opposition factions is counterproductive; our focus must be on a unified struggle against the current regime. We are close to achieving democratic change, but complacency is dangerous. Vučić is prepared to do anything to stay in power, and this threat must be taken seriously by all who seek a better future for Serbia. The ZLF is committed to doing its utmost to contribute to this fight.
