Lee Jung-hoo's slump continues, batting average drops below .300

Jung Hoo Lee, the star outfielder for the San Francisco Giants, experienced a slump, failing to record a hit for the second game in a row. This performance dip has resulted in his season batting average falling below the .300 mark.

In the Giants' recent game against the Detroit Tigers on August 10th (KST) at Oracle Park, Lee started as the No. 2 hitter and right fielder. He went 0-for-4 at the plate, marking his second consecutive game without a hit after a 0-for-3 performance the previous day. His season average now stands at .298 (122 hits in 409 at-bats), down from .301.

Lee's struggles were evident throughout the game. In the first inning, he struck out swinging on three pitches against Tigers right-hander Troy Meltoon. Later, in the third inning with runners on first, he hit a fly ball to center field. In the sixth inning, with a runner on base, he hit a pop fly to right field after a full-count battle.

The most frustrating moment came in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and no outs. Lee swung and missed for a strikeout against left-handed pitcher Drew Sommer, failing to capitalize on a crucial opportunity. He had attempted to bunt twice earlier in the at-bat, resulting in foul balls that put him in a difficult count.

The Giants ultimately lost the hard-fought game 1-3 in extra innings. After tying the game 1-1, they allowed two runs in the top of the 10th and failed to score in the bottom half. This loss marked the Giants' second consecutive defeat, bringing their season record to 49 wins and 69 losses, keeping them in fourth place in the NL West division.
