Legislator Gathers Input on Infrastructure and Food Security During Recess

Member of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rajiv, utilized his recess period to engage with communities in West Bandung Regency. He focused on collecting public feedback concerning street lighting, food security, and agricultural infrastructure.

Rajiv stated that the recess provides a vital opportunity for elected officials to meet directly with the public, gathering insights that inform their work in legislation, oversight, and budgeting. During his recess, which began July 22, 2026, Rajiv met with various community groups, including farmers and students. He also inspected agricultural infrastructure to assess the challenges faced by farmers firsthand. He specifically addressed concerns about inadequate street lighting, which residents felt impacted safety and comfort at night, promising to coordinate with relevant agencies.

The sensitivity of the younger generation to the environment where they serve provides a unique positive energy for me. This aspiration regarding street lighting is an important note that I will coordinate immediately, because the safety and comfort of residents are paramount.

Rajiv also held discussions on food security and health with residents in Ganjarsabar Village. As a member of Commission IV, which oversees agriculture, marine affairs, and fisheries, he promoted the "Love Eating Fish" (Gemarikan) movement. He encouraged increased fish consumption for its protein benefits and to bolster Indonesia's fisheries potential, highlighting the importance of public education and awareness regarding nutrition and food security.
