LEPAS L8 Plug-in Hybrid SUV Launched in Indonesia for Rp589 Million

LEPAS Indonesia has officially announced the pricing for its LEPAS L8 sport utility vehicle (SUV), a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). The five-seater model is priced at Rp589 million on the road (OTR) in Jakarta, marking the beginning of its official marketing in the country.

The launch event was attended by Chen Chunqing, Executive Vice President of Chery International. LEPAS Indonesia has been expanding its dealer network and after-sales services in several cities. Temmy Wiradjaja, Vice Country Director of LEPAS Indonesia, stated that the LEPAS L8 is designed to merge plug-in hybrid technology with cabin comfort and ample space, catering to both daily mobility needs and long-distance travel.

"At LEPAS, we believe premium vehicles are not just about the technology they possess, but how that technology can deliver a more comfortable, intuitive, and enjoyable driving experience," Wiradjaja said in a written statement. The LEPAS L8 is built on the LEX Intelligent New Energy Platform, which reportedly provides a larger cabin due to its 2,800-millimeter wheelbase, offering a more stable, quieter ride and better energy efficiency. The SUV can travel over 100 kilometers on pure electric power, with a combined electric and gasoline engine range exceeding 1,300 kilometers.

Safety features include Automatic Parking Assist (APA), Remote Parking Assist (RPA), a 540-degree panoramic camera, and 16 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Inside, comfort features include massage seats, 256-color ambient lighting, an air quality monitoring system, an active fragrance system, and 47 storage compartments. The vehicle also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) power up to 2.2 kW and AC charging up to 6.6 kW, with a water wading capability of up to 600 millimeters.

LEPAS is offering a comprehensive after-sales program. This includes a six-year or 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for the battery, electric motor, and controller, and a 10-year or one-million-kilometer engine warranty for the first owner. Additionally, there are four years or 60,000 kilometers of free service labor, two years of pick-up and delivery service in certain areas, and three years of roadside assistance. During the launch, LEPAS also showcased two humanoid robots named Argos, demonstrating the use of artificial intelligence in product launch events.
