AI and WiFi 7 Take Focus as UNM Strengthens Curriculum via Cisco Networking Academy 2026

Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), a Digital Business Campus, has reinforced its commitment to aligning education with global industry needs by participating in the Indonesia Instructor Conference Cisco Networking Academy 2026. Held in Pekanbaru, the event brought together Cisco Networking Academy instructors from across Indonesia to update their competencies and strengthen industry-based curriculum implementation at UNM.

Over two days, participants gained insights into the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), computer networking, WiFi 7, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data science. The conference highlighted the practical application of Cisco technologies across various industries, underscoring the need for educational institutions to keep pace with digital transformation.

Discussions focused on the critical role of collaboration between universities and Cisco Networking Academy in fostering adaptive learning ecosystems. Topics covered included Cisco for Industry, AI, Python programming, computer networking, data science, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, demonstrating the evolving landscape of required technical skills.

The conference concluded with an industrial visit to PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan. Attendees observed firsthand how Cisco technologies are implemented, including the use of AI for monitoring oil well productivity and data analytics for informed decision-making. This practical exposure further solidified UNM's dedication to providing relevant, hands-on learning experiences.

UNM's Head and Cisco Academy Trainer, Andry Maulana, stated that the experience reinforced the campus's commitment to industry-relevant education. He emphasized that AI, computer networking, and cybersecurity are now core competencies demanded by the industry. UNM's Internship Experience Program (IEP) 3+1, which combines three years of study with one year of professional internship, is a key initiative to ensure students gain real-world experience before graduation, preparing them for national and global career opportunities.
