Lexus Owner in Yilan Seized for NT$57,000 in Unpaid Fines; Relative Arranges Installment Plan to Save Car

In a move that underscores the strict enforcement of traffic regulations, the Administrative Execution Agency's Ilan branch successfully apprehended a luxury Lexus sedan that had accumulated a significant debt in unpaid traffic fines. The vehicle, found parked on Luodong Road, was targeted as part of a collaborative effort between the agency, the Ilan Motor Vehicles Office, and the Yilan County Government, which leverages parking fee information to track down delinquent vehicles.

The Ilan branch discovered Cao's vehicle, a 2014 Lexus, in a parking spot on Xingdong Road, which had accumulated over 57,000 yuan in unpaid fines and had been transferred to the Ilan branch for enforcement by the Ilan Motor Vehicles Office. The Ilan branch had repeatedly notified him to handle the outstanding debt, but Cao had never appeared.

The owner, identified by the surname Cao, owed over NT$57,000 across 26 separate violations. Despite repeated notifications from the agency, Cao failed to address the outstanding debt. The car, a 2014 model, was ultimately located and sealed by enforcement officers.

Fortunately for the owner, the situation was resolved before the vehicle could be towed. Cao's niece, who had borrowed the car, arrived at the scene and, upon learning of the potential confiscation, quickly arranged for a payment installment plan with her friend, who was currently using the car. This prompt action secured the vehicle's release.
