Lien Khuong Airport to end passenger announcements

Lien Khuong Airport will stop calling passengers over the terminal loudspeakers, with the change introduced in stages to reduce noise and improve service quality.

From October 1, the airport will suspend announcements asking passengers to check in, proceed to departure gates and respond to routine searches. Starting at 5 a.m. on November 1, it will end all regular passenger announcements inside the terminal.

The public-address system will remain available for emergencies, fire prevention and response, security, and aviation safety in line with regulations. The airport has asked airlines to notify passengers in advance and encourage them to follow flight information on terminal display screens and reach departure gates on time.

Airlines will also arrange ground staff to assist, monitor and remind passengers in check-in areas and restricted waiting lounges. The airport, which serves the Da Lat area, reopened on August 19 after a five-month runway closure for repairs. Between August 19 and 26, it handled nearly 39,000 passengers and 76 tonnes of cargo. During the September 2 National Day holiday, it operated 36 to 40 flights a day, while passenger numbers rose 20% to 30% from the first week after reopening.
