Liga MX adopts new corporate governance structure, mirroring global standards

Liga MX has unveiled a new corporate governance model, a move ratified by all 18 clubs and announced by Commissioner Mikel Arriola. This reform introduces the "Liga Mexicana de Futbol Profesional, A.C." within the Mexican Football Federation's legal framework. Arriola stated this vehicle will help Liga MX "maximize its assets like the best leagues in the world," emphasizing transparency, certainty, stability, and accountability.

The new structure establishes four committees: Sports, Commercial, Ethics and Good Governance, and Investment and Certification. Each committee will comprise six Liga MX clubs, the Liga MX president, and the vice president of each branch. These committees are designed to bolster administration and governance within the federation.

Arriola explained that the new corporate model is based on international best practices, aiming to pave the way for a "world-class league." While the specific club assignments to each committee are yet to be revealed, Arriola has instructed Francisco Iturbide, the new President of Liga MX, to announce these details once they are delegated. This strategic overhaul signifies a significant step towards modernizing the league's operational and administrative framework.
