Limpio: Second Suspect Captured in Home Invasion Case

Police in Limpio, Paraguay, have apprehended a second individual believed to be involved in a home invasion, with a distinctive sock playing a crucial role in the identification.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Martín Reinaldo Martínez Bordón, was arrested in the street. A key piece of evidence that linked him to the crime was a sock with a heart pattern, which the victim immediately recognized as hers. The detained man has prior convictions for theft and aggravated theft.

According to police reports, the victim positively identified Martínez Bordón, who subsequently admitted his involvement in the aggravated robbery. Police Commissioner José Acosta, head of Limpio's 9th Precinct, explained that the arrest was part of the ongoing investigation following the capture of the first suspect.

The victim reported that the robbery occurred on July 17. The perpetrators entered through a window and stole various items, including a television valued at approximately 5 million Paraguayan guaranis. She also pleaded with them not to take her medication due to health issues.

Both suspects have criminal records. The first detainee has previous convictions for homicide, theft, aggravated theft, and receiving stolen goods, while Martínez Bordón has four prior offenses for theft and aggravated theft. Investigators also recovered an iPhone charger belonging to the victim from the first suspect. Police believe the robbers decided against taking the cell phone for fear of it being tracked.
