Lithuania braces for stormy weather as Cyclone Peggy approaches

Lithuania is set to experience a dramatic shift in weather conditions starting Thursday evening, as a cyclone named Peggy approaches, bringing unsettled weather to the region.

Already tomorrow evening, the clouds of the wavy atmospheric front of the cyclone, named Peggy, will reach the western and southwestern districts of Lithuania, watering them, and considerably in some places, and another atmospheric front from the south will rise near the southern and southeastern districts.

According to meteorologist E. Latvėnaitė, the western and southwestern parts of Lithuania will be the first to feel the impact of Peggy's weather front on Thursday evening, with rain expected. By Friday, the cyclone's influence will spread to a larger portion of the country, bringing warm but rainy weather, accompanied by thunderstorms.

The forecast indicates that a small cyclone moving from the south will reach Lithuania by Friday evening. This will lead to more rain and thunder on Saturday night and into the early part of the day. Winds will shift to the west and strengthen, particularly along the coast and in western regions, bringing cooler temperatures during the day.

Warm, but rainy, with thunderstorms, will also be Friday. Already on Friday evening, a small cyclone will reach Lithuania from the south, so on Saturday night and the beginning of the day it will water even more, thunder will rumble, during the day the wind will turn to the west, strengthen, especially on the coast and in the western regions, the day will be cooler.

Sunday is expected to be calmer, with fog likely during the night and light rain during the day. The beginning of the following week is predicted to be similar, with light, variable winds, frequent morning fog, and occasional daytime showers with thunderstorms. Despite the unsettled weather, temperatures are expected to remain pleasant, characteristic of a typical Lithuanian summer.
