Lombok Barat Regent Arrives at KPK, Silent and Head Bowed

Lombok Barat Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini arrived at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) headquarters in South Jakarta on Monday night, July 20, 2026, for further examination following his apprehension in a sting operation. His vehicle entered the KPK's Red and White Building around 9:59 PM Western Indonesian Time.

Upon exiting his vehicle, Zaini, wearing a navy cap, white shirt, trousers, and a light brown jacket, covered his face with a mask and carried a large black backpack. An employee of the Lombok Barat Regency Government mentioned that KPK teams arrested five people in the operation, including Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini. This employee also stated that Zaini and four others were scheduled to fly to Jakarta on Monday afternoon for intensive examination at the KPK headquarters. Under the Criminal Procedure Code, the KPK has a maximum of 24 hours to determine the legal status of individuals apprehended in sting operations.
