Los Olivos Medical Center Hit by Gunfire for Third Time in Six Months

A medical center in Los Olivos was attacked with gunfire for the third time in roughly six months, leaving more than 20 bullet impacts on its glass panels, doors and metal gate.

The shooting took place at about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, at the center on Beta Avenue. Police found 11 shell casings outside the premises and cordoned off the area while forensic experts collected evidence.

The specialists are working to determine the characteristics of the weapon and how the attack unfolded. Residents said the establishment had already suffered two other attacks in the previous six months. They also said it was the only medical center in this part of Los Olivos to have been targeted in this way.

A preliminary hypothesis suggests that the attackers arrived on a motorcycle and fired at the building while traveling along Beta Avenue. Investigators still need to verify that account. Security cameras operate near the center, including one belonging to the Los Olivos municipality that points toward the avenue, but authorities had not yet accessed its footage.

Police temporarily restricted traffic in one direction to allow the investigation to proceed, and the center remained closed during the forensic work. The establishment told some patients that services would resume from 8 a.m., once the Criminalistics examination had ended.
