LPTK FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga Certifies 3,031 New Professional Teachers

The Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has officially recognized 3,031 educators as professional teachers. These individuals have successfully completed the Professional Teacher Education Program for In-Service Teachers (PPG Dalam Jabatan) Batch 4 of 2025, preparing them to introduce new pedagogical methods in their respective regions.

This certification is part of the university's ongoing commitment to consistently enhance the standards and quality of national education. The inauguration ceremony, conducted on Saturday, May 30, 2026, utilized a hybrid format to accommodate participants from across Indonesia. A total of 490 participants attended the event in person in Yogyakarta, while 2,541 others joined the proceedings virtually from their homes.

The newly certified teachers include educators from madrasahs and those teaching Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in general schools. They underwent a rigorous and challenging professional education program designed to strengthen their competencies, professionalism, and ethical responsibilities as educators shaping the nation's future.

UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Rector, Prof. Noorhaidi Hasan, presided over the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the Indonesian teacher's code of ethics. Dean of FITK, Prof. Dr. Sigit Purnama, reported that the program comprised teachers from various subjects, including 997 PAI teachers, 103 Akidah Akhlak teachers, 1,534 elementary school teachers, 296 kindergarten teachers, and 101 Islamic Cultural History teachers, reflecting a broad effort to improve educational quality.
