Lula advised to distance himself from son's case, target Bolsonaro in TV interview

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva received guidance from his campaign team to distance himself from investigations concerning his son, Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, during a crucial interview on TV Globo. The strategy, intended for Thursday night's broadcast, also involves Lula shifting focus to his main rival, Flávio Bolsonaro, and questioning his financial dealings.

Lula traveled to Rio de Janeiro for the interview, accompanied by key ministers. Allies within the Workers' Party (PT) suggested Lula adopt the stance that parents should not be held responsible for their children's actions, though Lula has reportedly resisted this approach. The campaign aims to present a united front, with Lula expected to address the Lulinha case while also preparing to counter-attack.

Beyond the Lulinha investigation, Lula's campaign is preparing him to aggressively target Flávio Bolsonaro. Recent campaign materials have included a jingle questioning Flávio's role in allegedly channeling 61 million reais to Daniel Vorcaro for the production of a film about former President Jair Bolsonaro. This aggressive strategy aims to leverage recent controversies surrounding Flávio.

Further fueling this offensive, the Lula campaign released videos and graphics highlighting the 100-day mark since Flávio Bolsonaro promised to provide an accounting of the funds used for the film. Minister Guilherme Boulos publicly questioned the whereabouts of the funds, intensifying the pressure on Bolsonaro. The campaign intends to use these points as ammunition during the televised debate, seeking to erode Flávio's support base.
