Makinde-backed PDP releases election timetable, fixes cost of presidential nomination, expression of interest forms

A significant development in Nigeria's political landscape has emerged as a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reportedly backed by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has unveiled its timetable and associated costs for the 2027 general elections. This move by the Interim National Working Committee (NWC) sets the stage for internal party dynamics and potential realignments. The announced fees, particularly the N100 million for presidential expression of interest and nomination forms, stand in stark contrast to those set by a rival PDP faction aligned with Nyesom Wike.
