Malaysia, French firm sign deal for LCS missile supply

Malaysia's Ministry of Defence has secured a significant air defense capability, signing a Letter of Acceptance with French defense manufacturer MBDA France. The agreement, finalized during the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2026, concerns the procurement of surface-to-air missile systems for the nation's littoral combat ships (LCS).

Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, signed the document alongside representatives from MBDA France. This move is expected to bolster the defensive capabilities of the Royal Malaysian Navy's LCS fleet, providing crucial protection against aerial threats.
