Malaysia's Deputy Police Chief Ayob Khan to Retire After 35 Years

Malaysia's Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, will conclude his nearly 35-year career in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) this Sunday. Reflecting on his long service, Ayob Khan stated that Sunday marks his final day in uniform after dedicating almost three and a half decades to the nation's security forces. Throughout his distinguished career, Ayob Khan has held numerous significant roles, including Chief Police Officer of Johor, Director of the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN), and Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ), before his appointment as Deputy Inspector General in June 2023. Looking ahead to his post-retirement life, Ayob Khan shared a lighthearted plan: he might open a restaurant. He humorously envisioned himself wearing a traditional sarong and shirt while preparing roti canai, offering the public a glimpse of him in a different setting. For now, however, his priority is to rest after concluding his service with PDRM. While he has received several offers, he has not yet considered them, preferring to take time off first. Ayob Khan also indicated the possibility of a future book detailing operations he participated in, which could be shared with the public. His career has been marked by significant contributions to law enforcement and national security.
