Syatilla Melvin's father battling advanced leukemia, husband provides crucial support

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Syatilla Melvin shared the critical health condition of her 80-year-old father, who is battling advanced leukemia. The cancer has spread, severely impacting his other organs, including his heart and kidneys.

Syatilla, whose full name is Siti Nur Syatilla Amirol Melvin, explained that her father's heart function has declined to just 27%. He was recently discharged from the hospital, with doctors indicating that further medical intervention was limited and advising the family to manage his care at home.

"I can't say things are good, but I am constantly praying for ease," Syatilla said. "His heart is weakening, functioning at only 27 percent, and his kidneys are also failing. Many things are interconnected, but his condition is stable now."

She noted that her husband, actor Shaheizy Sam, has been instrumental in providing care, especially since the family lacks male siblings. "Sam is a great help because we don't have brothers. We rely on our son-in-law," she stated. "When my father needs to go somewhere or get some fresh air, we need a man's strength to support and hold him."

Syatilla had previously shared her father's hospitalization in early July, seeking prayers for his treatment. The actress and Shaheizy Sam were also announced as ambassadors for MR DIY Club during the event where she shared these updates.
