Malaysian Tahfiz Student Dies, Friend Critically Injured in Thailand Crash

A tragic accident on the Yala-Betong highway in Thailand has claimed the life of a Malaysian tahfiz student and left his friend in critical condition. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM in the Bannang Sareng sub-district of Mueang Yala district, near Pra­chawittaya School.

Muhammad Adam Arif Salleh, 21, from Perlis, died at the scene due to severe head injuries. His companion, Khairul Sulaiman Ali, 22, from Kuala Kedah, Kedah, sustained serious injuries and remains unconscious. Rescue teams from Mae Ko Niao Rescue Operation Center responded to the scene.

According to a spokesperson for the rescue center, both individuals were Malaysian nationals. The injured victim was transported to Yala Hospital for further treatment. Reports indicate that both young men were students at the Pondok Padang Pusu tahfiz center in the Sadawa sub-district of Yarang, Pattani. They were reportedly traveling to their center, approximately 52 kilometers away, after visiting a friend when the accident took place.
