Man and woman die in road crash in County Antrim

A 41-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman have died following a road traffic collision in County Antrim. The incident, involving a silver Ford Transit Custom van, occurred in the Glenariffe Road area near Ballymena on Saturday.

Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended.

Emergency services, including police, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, responded to the report of the crash shortly before 9:10 p.m. Officers found the occupants of the van, the man and the woman, tragically pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision. The Glenariffe Road was temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation and recovery efforts but has since reopened. Police are continuing their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
