Man Apologizes for Defamatory Social Media Post About Employer's EPF Contributions

A man has issued a public apology for a defamatory social media post he made on Threads concerning his employer, Nasken Coffee, and alleged issues with his Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributions. The individual admitted that his post, made last Saturday, was entirely untrue and resulted from an error in interpreting his EPF statement.

"I apologize to the company and all Nasken Coffee staff for this mistake," he stated. "I promise not to issue any more untrue statements against the company." He explained that the confusion arose because he mistakenly believed his EPF contributions had not been paid for nine months, based on the records he reviewed. He clarified that his employer's EPF contributions have been paid punctually and according to schedule.

Nasken Coffee's lawyer, Datuk Adnan Seman @ Abdullah, confirmed that the company received the employee's public apology and will not pursue legal action against him. He noted that company records show the employee has worked there for nearly three years with all salaries paid on time. The lawyer also revealed that Nasken Coffee has filed lawsuits against two other Threads users, Nur Sara Dina Binti Yen and an account named Zura, for publishing similar defamatory statements regarding EPF contributions that company records show were not outstanding.
