Man Arrested After Car Theft, Crash, and School Lockdown North of Brisbane

Queensland police have apprehended a 31-year-old man following a dramatic morning involving a car theft, a serious traffic incident, and a school lockdown north of Brisbane. The man is accused of stealing a vehicle from Morayfield before causing a collision at the intersection of Victoria Lane and Archer Street in Woodford.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene around 6:10 am, where they found a two-car crash. Paramedics provided critical care to a 60-year-old woman from Caboolture South, who was involved in the collision and sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver of the allegedly stolen car, however, fled the scene on foot, initiating a manhunt by authorities.

The search concluded around 8:30 am when the suspect was arrested at a nearby school. Police confirmed that the school was placed into lockdown as a precautionary measure during the apprehension. Investigations into the incident, including the circumstances of the car theft and the subsequent crash, are ongoing.
